This is precious time to reconnect with friends and see what's new! Plan to be on campus Friday to Sunday, April 25-27.
The celebrations will include: Alumni of the Year 2025. | Golf tournament on Sunday with net proceeds benefiting WWU Athletics. | Informative Friday afternoon seminars. | Friday dinner in Kellogg Hall. | Beautiful PRISM Vespers. | Honor class reunions and photos for alumni in the years 2015, 2010, 2005, 2000, 1995, 1990, 1985, 1980, 1975, 1970, 1965, and Vanguards (pre-1965). |Car Show. | Fun run with net proceeds going to the student worthy fund. | And more!
Registration will open February. In preparation for the weekend, help select next year's alumni of the year and submit a class member profile.
Recap from Homecoming Weekend 2024
In April, nearly 900 alumni visited campus for Homecoming Weekend 2024. More than 30 events (most complimentary) were offered, starting with a Friday-morning program highlighting the very best of WWU, our Alumni of the Year, and the many scholarships awarded by alumni and donors like you! Friday also featured informative seminars, an alumni dinner in Kellogg Hall, and the ever-popular PRISM concert. Throughout the weekend we celebrated 50 years of social work majors, sociology majors, preprofessional alumni, and the 50th anniversary of Bowers Hall—pictured here is a group representative of the science types that taught or took a class in Bowers Hall, a group who attribute success in their careers to the start they got in Bowers Hall. Included in the group are Herb Larsen '79 and one of the Alumni of the Year 2024, and a family representative of a well known chemistry graduate from 1939, Dr. Lyle Jensen.
John McVay, the longest-serving president of WWU, spoke for our church service, and delicious food and fellowship followed in the largest restaurant in town (the Winter Educational Complex Alumni Gymnasium). Honor year classes gathered for reunions and captured their milestone in group photos.
The Class of 1984 pooled their talents to present a wonderful program in Village Hall on Saturday night. Invited dignitaries included cherished former faculty members and President McVay, who was feted with a clever blues-style farewell song.
Sunday's perfect weather helped alumni make the most of the Richard J. Kegley Memorial Fun Run/Walk, the Eugene Winter Golf Classic at Wine Valley Golf Club, and the 24th Annual Homecoming Car Show.
